If you want to make your own guacamole try this classic recipe:

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:
2-3 fresh avocados
¼ tsp. fresh garlic or a few pinches of garlic powder
3 T. fresh chopped cilantro
½ – 1 T. finely chopped shallot
1 chopped jalapeno
salt to taste
1 lime

Directions:

Just mash the avocados and then throw in garlic, cilantro, shallot, jalapeno, and lime juice and you’re done! Add salt to taste. Protip: if you want to skip the homemade – try Trader Joe’s – you won’t be able to taste the difference!

And here are some variations:

  1. Sweet Corn Guacamole

Adding corn to a classic guacamole will bring out the natural tang from the citrus, and make for a sweeter variation of the traditional variation

  1. Roasted Peppers and Sun-dried Tomato Guacamole

Throw in some roasted peppers, sun-dried tomatoes or both to make this “euro” variation of guac. The varied textures play against guac’s avocado base and create more texture

  1. Mango-Jalapeno Guacamole

The richness of the mango, and its sweet flavor pair wonderfully with a guac that has a few extra pinches of jalapenos for spice, if you mimic the sweet-spicy combo in a margarita
