Ptr. it took: we make the mayonnaise as follows: we mix the yeast with the sugar in a cup with 3 lg of warm water; mix well then add 3 lg flour and mix again; if it is too thick, add warm water; leave to rise on the radiator for about 10-15 min.
In a larger bowl sift the flour, make a nest and in it we put in turn the oil, vanilla sugar, salt, rum and mayonnaise and mix slowly; gradually add warm water and mix until you get a dough; knead the dough until it comes off the hands. Leave to rise for 1 hour, in the bowl covered with a clean kitchen towel, in a warm place, away from drafts.
After the dough has risen, we take pieces of it by hand and make thin rolls, join the ends and form a circle that we twist in half forming the number 8 or as in the pictures below, forming the letter S with the ends tighter.
Place the martyrs in a pan greased with oil and lined with baking paper, let them rise for about 15-20 minutes, then grease them on top with syrup (3 lg of sugar mixed with 100 ml of water) and put them in the oven until they brown nicely.
Ptr.sirop: boil the water with the sugar and honey on the fire until a syrup binds;
Remove the baked martyrs, let them cool a bit, then soak them in this syrup on both sides and place them in a tray, then sprinkle the ground walnuts on top of them. If there is any syrup left, we pour it on top, over the ground walnuts.
Delicious, sweet and fluffy :)
